Opinions are a part of this site. I knew I would get comments from those who are fans of rap. Why not give some reasons why it isn't, to convince me, rather than tell me to keep my opinions to myself?

Thus far the majority of answers have simply concentrated on telling me off having asked this question. I thought at least my question had a little assonance going on for those that claim that rappers are poets.

Give some examples of fantastic poetic rap songs - I am here to be convinced, not yelled at.

I don't no what kind of music you listen to but a lot of rock groups and bands stem their style from rap. I love rap well let me say I do not like commercial rappers the ones talking about their Bentley's and mansions, but I do love poetic Rappers like Talib Kweli, Common, and Mos Def they are poets

i hate when ppl come on here and bash on music
i luv rap/hip hop and if u don't like it okay that's fine with me and i know of rock bands that actually team up with rap artits to make great music hits personally i think there are certain rap/hip hop artits out there who don't talk about the same old same old in there songs and i would really appreciate it if ppl would stop asking questions like this but i know that will never change plus everyone has a different taste in music so ppl should appreciate that too if not the world would be broing and that's what makes the world so versatile

have u seen rap/hiphop acts on a nu-metal video?

yeah it must be twisted transistor by korn impersonators
snoop, x, and the other 3 i couldnt recall right now..
the video is funny, coz real korn wanted to be like them, bling-blings, girls..

the meaning here korn is tired of what is going on with the music industry..
replay the video for a few times, u'll get the meaning..

its not i dont like rap/hiphop, i prefer heavier stuffs.. rock/metal..

p.s.: no offense

lol at how worked up people are getting.

i personally can't stand rap.it makes my ears bleed.i don't know how anyone can stand to listen to a whole song of some guy talking really fast about how many hoes he's got on his dick.its disgusting.not to mention idiotic.examples:

laffy taffy (musical retardation)
smack that
fergalicious

this can get deleted for all i care.i've said what i needed to

I'm glad someone else thinks so.
I think the people who listen to it have a low IQ, and there are many of them (as your first answerer testifies)
