Anyone who cared to look beyond the extreme propaganda proliferated by the majority of the western media could not regard the political events in Venezuela as anything but magical.
After many International verified free and fair elections, and referendums Hugo Chavez clearly has the support of the Majority of it's citizens. He is the legitimate president who has stood up for the impoverished, sought a better deal from the oil corporations, and rejuvenated the political participation of the country.
It is natural that the rich elites of Venezuela who have trampled on the poor for many years are concerned about their new found power.

Unfortunately, with Hugo Chavez as a socialist/communist Venezuela will slowly be led to economic and political ruin. I understand the antipathy toward the US but the Hugo Chavez model will not be the way to go.
I am hopeful that after Venezuelans have had a belly full of socialism they will come out from under the rubble and build a free society based on the best of Venezuelan values.

If Hugo wants to be enemies with the USA, he's succeeded.

Hugo made lots of enemies here in the USA with his speech to the United Nations. For a brief moment in time, every political faction in the USA was united -- united in the condemnation of Hugo.

There is an movement to boycott Citgo, which sells gasoline in much of the USA, because it is owned by the Venezuelan oil company.

Beyond that, most Americans don't think about Venezuela, and we certainly don't wish its citizens anything but peace and prosperity.

enable's see...... Hugo Chavez is the President of Venezuela. He in simple terms have been given adequate votes after promoting on the state controlled media to permit him to stay in capacity continuously if he keeps to run. In Venezuela the government is cracking down on television classes and political opposition. The President has suggested as the U. S. a "devil" and is pals with the country of Iran, the thorn in our part. luckily, Venezuela is not any probability to us so human beings commonly regard his presidency with ordinary laughter.

Chavez is an enemy of America. We will get to him someday. We have Iran, North Korea, and Syria to finish off first.
