For my Art and design course, I am doing the phrase "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"
I want to know what you find beautiful......so I can add it to my research work.
It doesn't matter how weird or wonderful....

Crisp winter mornings in the countryside
snowflakes (magnified)
crystals
smoke - in the right light (morning sunlight)
my girlfriends face when sleeping (and normally of course but especially when asleep)
ruins/wrecks

The VW Beetle or the Doc Marten Boot (classic 8 hole) both are so ugly they are actually really attractive. Both are classic designs and exist in the nations psyche as modern masterpeices. Plus a really nice angle is some of the connatations and history they evoke. The beetle was originally designed as a jeep for the germans in ww2 and a cherry red doc marten conjours obvious images of the national front (NF) (though many people maintain it was first adopted by Ska fans who sought to break away from the violence between the mods and the rockers and was only later hijacked by racists) Pehaps show a black DM on its own ask for responses from your art class then show a cherry red doc with blue jeans.a white t-shirt, red braces and a green bomber jacket and ask the same question, On a roll now I loved projects like this at uni - have fun and question peoples pre conceptions!

I find that beautiful which makes me think; that which takes me out of myself and see something for the first time or in a new way. That is the roll of the artist, after all, and the best artists do that for me and for society with every piece of art they make.

I find sounds beautiful. Beauty is not just a visual thing. I'm a sonic artist, so maybe I'm biased.
Voices are beautiful. White noise is beautiful.
Just something that takes your breath away, that's beautiful.

Why does it have to be 'beautiful'? What do you mean by 'beautiful'? Ah, yes, the survey. But why concentrate on the eye alone, why not hearing, touch, taste, smell? I mean, if you're going to base it on sensory perception, why not use all the senses? Now's your chance to experiment, go for it!

The southwestern desert of the United States. It is beautiful in its desolation. Most do not like it at all. But I find beauty in most of nature. And this is beauty at its rawest.

Natural beauty in seascapes, sunsets, coastlines everything in nature has a beauty of its own. I love trying to capture it on canvas.
