They probably wanted to make him a "neutral" color. Green is too masculine.

He is bright and the color is attractive to young children. They do all kinds of studies before they chose the color of a character. Studies that show how children respond to different colors and which ones they are the most attracted to and that will make for a more successful audience and higher ratings.

well if he as black, it would b racist. if he was white is would b racist. if he was green he would look punk. if he was blue to boyish. pink to girlish. red to seductive. orange looks like orange juice(who likes pulp?). puple is puple. in the days way way way way way way way back, jesus times, puple was con sidered royalty, and this probably if the correct answer.
