I have a 10 month old and when my daughter was around 7 months, we got her on a routine. My husband read alot of books and combined some popular methods (i.e. Ferber, etc.) with common sense and he came up with a winning schedule. The key is to come up with a routine you can stick with every day. Our was the following:
7:00am - wake up call
7:30am - breakfast
8-10am - play time
10-10:30 - quiet play (usually alone in her room in the crib)
10:30-11:30 - morning nap
12:00 - lunch
1-2 - stroll outside (weather permitting)
2-2:30 - play inside
2:30-3 - quiet play
3-4 - afternoon nap
5pm - dinner
5:30-6:30 - play time
7pm - finger foods (change up snacks)
7:30 - bath
8pm - give last bottle & lights out
8pm - 7am - sleeps through the night
Obviously there'll be times where it's impossible to stick to this routine (i.e. teething, sickness, an outting) but at least try and keep meal times and nap times as regular as possible. Babies love predictability and takes comfort in knowing what's coming next. Once my husband came up with this schedule, it took us only 2 days for my daughter to follow it. It's also nice for you because you'll know that after a certain hour where your baby is asleep, you have time for yourself. Good luck!

Well good luck with this quest...I have a 7 month old daughter who slept through the night from 3-5 months of age, but now....no way. I do give her food before bed and I give her a warm bath with Lavendar in it, but every baby is different. With my daughter with her getting her teeth in it is bugging her and she doesn't sleep very well at night. She goes to bed between 8 and 9 at night and wakes up at 4 usually. so good luck!

attempt to do the sme habitual each evening... My daughter is 4 months previous now and has slept by using the evening for the reason that she became 2 months previous... each evening I placed that Johnson's evening time cream on her and rock her till she receives drowsy... Then I placed her in her crib to nod off on her own... She oftentimes sleeps from 9 or 10pm till everywhere between 6-9 am... My sister in regulation places 2 teaspoons of cereal in her son's very last bottle for the evening and he commonly sleeps by using the evening... he's 8 months previous!! each infant is different... some are sleepers and some are not... i'm constructive your infant will start up quickly....

Food, babys stay sleeping when their tummys are full =)
try to get on a schedule where their last feeding is a meal, foods like rice cereal or oatmeal baby cereal even if they are mixed with fruit or applesauce will fill your baby for longer.
Each baby is different though and if you can get them to sleep for a solid 6 hours count yourself lucky.

i recomend a nice warn bath with some lavender soap, then follow with lavender lotion. give anice warm bottle with a bit of infant rice cereal in it, u might have to poke a pin in the end of the nipple to make it a bit bigger or move up to the next stage nipple. this will keep baby full all night and very content. when my daughter was a baby we kept a radio on in her room all night so that other noises wouldn't wake her up, it worked great

Food does not keep babies sleeping that is a myth. I would try a warm bath with this product that GERBER puts out I cant remember the name but it is a minty smell and it is green and it is suppose to make them tired.

If you find out let me know! LOL, what do you consider all night, I figure it to be 5 hours, if they go to bed at 7 or 8 and wake to eat at midnight, you should get till 5 or 6 am, unfortuantly they dont sleep all night, with out waking, my son is 3 and he still wakes, i think more due to nightmares, but back to your question, if they way and wont go back to sleep, try gently rocking, dont talk or turn on any lights. keep it completely quiet. good luck,
