I play the piano and the violin. I've been playing the piano for a LONG time, but I just started learning to play the violin. I wanted to play the instruments because I'm not really in any activities, so I thought that maybe I could try playing instruments. I'm pretty good at the piano, but I just started the violin, so I don't think I'm that good yet. Our family has a piano, but I rent my violin.

I love the violin! It sounds great with piano, which I play. I started playing piano when I was 7. I used the Alfred's Adult Beginner Series (three books) and I finished that cirriculum when I was about 11 or 12. After that, I drifted off for a year and decided I didn't like piano anymore. Then, last September, my dad talked me into taking lessons. My teacher put me in Grade 5 (Royal Conservatory of Music), and this January, at 14 years old, I'm taking my Grade 8 exam! I'm so glad my dad got me back into it. I play at church every week, and I enjoy it. Some people say I'm good, but that's just an opinion. :D

I play clarinet - I really wanted to play the flute after seeing James Galway on TV when I was little, I was fascinated as it was a gold flute rather than silver.
I played recorder in primary school, then played flute for a year when I went to high school, but I was rubbish at it. My flute teacher also taught clarinet, so suggested I have a go at that instead, which I did, and got on really well.
Ended up doing a music degree but with voice as my first instrument, I still play clarinet and recorder occassionally (not at the same time, obviously!)

I have played the guitar for about 35 years in country and rock bands. No I am not famous. I pick it up at age 14 and was awe struck by the guitar and learned to play because of a burning desire to play. As far as being good at it I guess i do ok.

I play the piano because my parent saw a talent and wanted me to take lessons. I stopped now because there is no access to a piano and I live far from my parents'. It's nice that you play the violin! Very good!

Percussion and keyboards
Percussion: Drums and any drum type instrument, plus all the other things like triangle, xylophone, vibraphone, claves, etc.
Keyboards-manual, analog or digital (includes piano, synthesizer, sampler, mellotron, pump organ, etc)
I picked up percussion around 5th grade, keyboards by ear a year later.

I play bass, rhythm/lead. I don't consider myself good as i've seen some brilliant guitarists. But whenever i was in a band, i played bass, wrote the material and came up with the music [i don't read music]. I now have an Ibanez rhythm lead. Steve Vai uses one of them, but i just like the sound of it.

I like to think i play guitar, but i seem like a novice compared to mos people, and i've been playing for eleven years!!! I love it though, and thats what counts i suppose, it helps me relax...i started playing it coz my Dad does, and he taught me the first few basic chords, and then i went from there, Wish i'd got proper lessons though, so i know i'm doing it right! might ask about that actually...free online guitar teaching?.....

I play piano and guitar. I'm utterly hopeless at guitar, my fingers are too big and I keep messing up the chords. but I suppose I'm okay at piano, not anything brilliant, but I can get a fairly advanced tune right after a few goes.....
