You don't need his address to file for divorce. Contact an attorney, and get the ball rolling. You'll be asked to try and locate him through his family members, etc., but if that doesn't work, they will put a notice in the newspapers of the last known city he lived in. If he doesn't respond, then the divorce just goes through without him. If he does, then the divorce goes through with his participation. Best of luck to you.

Hire a private detective.
Ask a lawyer.
Can you track down any of his relatives?
I think there is a way that you can run an ad in the paper( like a notification) and run the ad for a certain amount of time if he does not respond then your divorce is automatically granted. I don't know if all states are like this so you should probably get some legal advice.

I was in the same position. I filed my divorce papers, and the process server found him. We were actually in different countries. Everything worked out fine, but it added a couple of thousand dollars to the cost. I did have some problems with the judge accepting the way the papers were served, but he did end up granting the divorce.

Marriage laws are state laws in the U.S. I agree with "Ex" that you can file for divorce on your own claiming you searched before filing. Have some evidence of the search. In California your petition would be granted, but they may require you to advertise in a major newspaper for a certain number of days first. To avoid your own frustration, work with a competent lawyer to get it right the first time.
I also agree there are online searches. Use his social security number or his employer, if you know that. Keep a detailed record of your search efforts. (See Para 1 above.)

Depending on the laws in your state. You may be able to file for divorce and just post in the newspaper in the city he last lived in that you are seeking a divorce. The court Will need proof that you did this then they give him a certain amount of time to respond. If he doesn't they will grant you a divorce.

You really don't need a current address. You just need to have an address of maybe a relative or someone you know he has contact with. If they accept the divorce papers and he doesn't show. It's done and over with!

Hire a private investigator. They have access to databases that are based on postal records.

You can have your lawyer do what is called a publication in newspapers where you think he might be and if he doesn't respond you are divorced by default. Check it out.
