Whether divorced or Not, of Course WWE is going to promote her as single to appear accessible to male fans, and to allow more options on screen. The same treason why Trish's departure ignored her upcoming wedding.

But when WWE finally capitalized on it Edge and Lita had already split in real life. WWE ignored the reality, and recreated the reality as it need it for better TV story lines.
As to Torrie, assuming she is still w/ Kidman(Don't Know, Don't Care)and they state that as fact, it makes Carlito look like a himbo, for flirting and kissing on a married woman, also it would imply that Kidman could return to reclaim his wife at some point. Also as on screen romance can lead to off screen recreation if Carlito and Torrie ever blur the line and stain the sheets, whats to stop Kidman from going Matt Hardy on them and blaming WWE for a future divorce.
