At first I have no idea but I thought about Mortal Combat LOL, Johnny Cage...if you know what Im talking about if not oh well joke to myself. Then I thought seriously about your question and not just at first sight, and it reminds me of like tire pressure gauge or something like that...so there ya have it

I had to laugh when I read what "the seeker" posted. The first thing that came to my mind was the TV show Emergency! I loved that show. Start an IV with D5W and ringers lactate - STAT! People who are just now having babies probably don't remember that show, so I wouldn't worry about it. Gage is a nice name.

Yes. It brings to mind a car manual that mispelled gauge as -- no kidding -- gage all the way through. (Chevrolet, I think.)
As a name, though, you could certainly do worse. It's weird, but not bizarre.
