Any judge that uses this law to punish so called dead beats should have his driving privlege and chauffered car taken away and given a budget of 50 cents a month to get to and from work. This is the most ludicris punishment ever. How can anyone get to work without a car unless they live in a major city. These judges should be lynched.

First of all, the states aren't concerned whether you are able to pay or not and if you live in a an area where commutting to and from work is a necessity why would one take his license. Well, the family courts are not courts of equitability, they are dedicated to the 24 Billion dollar a year child support industry. It is the largest business in the country. They keep divorced people broke and in the arrears and when the there are continued problems the courts will make mandatory psychiatric visits starting at 150 dollars and has to be paid by the individual. It is a racket and has nothing resembling intelligence, fairness, equality or "The best interest of the children". It is the single most vicious preditor in our system. They took my license just after starting a business to pay the support. I had been off of work for almost two years then the revoked my license and my business required me to drive to my customers. Wow, wonder who the brainchild was that dreamed up the sanctions to use as leverage. I am sure if you make arrangements they will reinstate your license until you get behind again then the cycle repeats and as long as you pay the system you can keep your privilege. No one will talk about why they use the leverage they do. I have talked to all of them. If they are part of the system they will give you no information. It is a monster that has grown out of greed and been made very profitable. There are men paying for children that are not even theirs. The sexism and bias against men in the family courts are worse than the kangaroo courts of the 18 century. Until the majority become tired of it and do something about the abuse the system will be out of control. The kicker is when they took my license I could no longer commute to get my kids for a visit. I have not seen my children for six months and guess what, no one cares! That is right, they do not care whether you see the kids or not, but will throw the best interest of the kids at you if you protest. Its a scam of the largest kind and violates the rights and freedoms of our constitution.

If you disagree with having to pay child support, then voluntarily terminate your parental right and let your ex take care of the kids better without your negligence. You need to get caught up. See about getting an occupational so you can keep working - and you should also work something out with the child support agency to take a set amount each week from your pays. Handle this right - communicate with the C/S office and you will be okay. You are very lucky you arent in jail.

I am glad that the states finally did something about child support. But if you can't drive to work how are you supposed to have a job to pay support? I know where I live their is no buses , taxis, I live way out in the country boondocks . So it would be hard for me to get to town 20 miles from my house. But I wouldn't ever get in the situation of support. If I had the kid I would make sure the kid is supported. No matter how much you hate its mother. I think it pisses women off more that guys do pay their support because women just love seeing men fail.. But I am also glad that the judges give support to men too , My friend has this problem right now with his ex wife who wont pay support but goes on vacations to florida with her girlfriends but when court time comes she says she dont have a job, no money etc.

You could probably work out a deal with Support Enforcement that if you pay of a significant amount you will get your license back. If you would have been paying the child support to begin with you wouldn't be in this situation in the first place. Maybe you should actually care enough about your kid(s) to be around and support them not only financially, but emotionally too. Jerk.

most areas have a legal aid society of some nature so I think you need an attorney to go before a judge and lay those facts out for you. I assume by your name here that you are female so an attorney may be able to help you in other ways as well, for example, if you are making a lot more than he is, perhaps you would have a more stable homelife for the children and should be awarded custody thus no child support due at all.

Consider yourself lucky. In some states, you could be in jail AND doing community service to work off your debt to your kids which is ludicrous because they never see any cash that way. I hope that they are deducting from your paycheck too and have orders for withholding for tax refunds as well. There are free legal services available that may be able to help you if you are truly being screwed. It seems to me that you wouldn't be in this situation if you had attended to your buisiness in the first place.
