Historicallly it comes out of Scotland, where a burning cross was used to rally the clans for war with England. It is thought Scottish emigrants - when Scotland was depopulated during the land clearances of the late eighteenth century - took this idea to North America with them. As people forced to emigrate against their will, they arrived in America with a sense of grievance - they just focused it on the wrong people!
The idea of fire and flame used as a religious symbol may be a hangover from pre-Christian paganism.
Although it should be noted that the symbol of the Church of Scotland (Presbytarian) is the Burning Bush which God used to manifest himself to Moses: this may be an association of ideas on the part of Scottish Christians?

Bringing a Message of Hope and Deliverance to White Christian America!
We believe in the Ku Klux Klan. We believe that the founders of the Ku Klux Klan were led by divine providence and that once again just like the Klan saved the white race during "Black Reconstruction" it will arise like the great phoenix - The Knights Party - to bring our people once again back from the brink of destruction. Our people led by the hand of God will once more rule our great land. A time of prosperity and racial healing - a great White Christian revival.
Looks like there is no room for anyone that is not white. Jesus was born in Bethlehem and no matter in how many films they portrayed him as White HE WAS NOT. He couldn't of been. He didn't have a fair complexion with rosy cheeks just like his mother was supposed to have.
And there was me thinking that Christianity was in the name of Jesus?

Many of the ku klux klan are not scum or white trash but mostly upstanding pillars of society.
They are visionaries, they do not hate, they sense the problems associated with immigration and the lowering in standards of white society associated with immigration.
They dont have anything against other races per se ,but would rather they be somewhere else.Perhaps in their countries of origin.
Problems arise when the naive left wing mindlessly repeat cliches regarding racism ,when they have little understanding of history, or developing social issues. It is only when the issues directly affect them , that they will recognise how blinkered they were.Unfortunately ...it will be too late!

When it comes to the issue of slavation, religion is nothing, Religion will not get you to heaven. If you are free from the Serpent Seed which you enherited from the first parents (well we all do) then you will go to heaven and God will become your Father!
But all the symbols, rituals and practices will just blind you and lead you to destruction, try to wake up. those are nothing but man made temporal which are out of the Plan of Salvation.
This is the Day of the Lord!

I'm not sure why they burn the cross. But I do find it offensive that the cross is implicated in such hatred and violence.
But then - the most famous man who is associated with the cross - Jesus - was crucified because of racial hatred!
