Tinsel now a days can be made out of anything and anything. While I was shopping the other day I saw some made out of plastic, silver, yarn, and many other strange materials. The traditional tinsel was made out of silver (which you can still find). Tinsel has turned from a cute tree decoration, to a school project for little kids. It's disappointing, but true.

Tinsel was never made out of silver.
First it was lead foil,
then aluminum, now plastic.
