That is the question of managing versus leading. Leaders are ethical in their dealings. They do the right things all of the time and not when it is beneficial to them. But if they are a good leader, they have evauated all the angles and made the best decision and dont make many mistakes.

People who only want to look like a leader are really those who want the reward but dont want to put in the hard work, lack a level of ethical standards, and really dont possess the characteristics of a leader (innovative, developmental, inspirational, sees the big picture, original, challenging, persuasive, suportive, visionary, strategic, etc..) anyway. People want to lead, but few really know how. So they play the role, and play the game, but their trueselves are always revealed in HOW they accomplish what they set out to do. Most often it is dirty, sheisty, and underhanded.

When you take on the responsibility of leading you have to consider all who will be effected by what you do. The Enron executives and their downfall of that company are a major example of WHAT NOT TO DO.

Choices

Some may look strong but don't care to lead.
Some may look weak but are very strong inside - and some are not tested until later in life. They're the rocks - of the workplace, of the home, and family.

Some just don't want to lead.

I love the prose - Don't walk in back of me, I don't want to lead. Don't walk in front of me, I don't want to follow. Walk beside me as I want to talk to you and start and continue friendship.

GOD bless us one and all, always not just during holidays.

you know a real leader doesn't gather a follower, but he raise another leader. Real leader focus's on what it has to be done not on his position.
