It depends on what type of teacher you wish to become. Obviously getting good grades to get into the college of your choice is first. If you think you are interested in becoming a history , english , social studies, math or science teacher concentrate on those as well. If you want to become an elementary teacher take early childhood education classes, art classes and music classes as well as your core subjects because you may be called on to teach any or all of these.

Clearly you need to take all of the courses required to get into college. But if you have a particular subject in mind be sure to take extra courses in that area. For example; if you want to teach art then be sure to take as many art classes as you can. If you like science then taking every science course offered will help you a great deal in college. You can also be aware of different projects that your teacher assigns and does so that you can do similar things as a teacher. Especially if you really liked the project!

All of the math and science you can get - You're going to need that background in college - also consider advance placement English - regular English is going to leave you at an eighth grade or lower level - good for being a newscaster.

I would recommend Psychology. As for a teacher it is very much necessary to know your students feelings and emotions to be able to touch their hearts and guide them to learning in the best way.

Just make sure you do the courses required for admission to university. Otherwise, it doesn't matter a great deal.
