God bless you baby.
and yes. hubby thought the grass was greener somewhere else (um...it wasn't)... and it was just me & the kids. Well, I wasn't technically alone...but it was THE hardest Christmas ever...for me AND the kids...and trust me, we were all feeling pretty alone.
TY...for what you did overseas. I mean that with all my heart.

Hey there Hando!!
I am not a christian but always been celebrating it with my friends and their families... no i have never spent Christmas alone... it has always been a very fantastic end of the year party ..
But i guess your question got me thinking.. this year probably will be the first time im gonna be alone... well being alone when u know you have duty and responsibility to fulfill and know very well your family and loved one remember u, missing u.. is much much better than when your friends too busy,, too engaged with new found bf/gf to even remember about others around them.. this is more sucky.
Anyway... Have a great Christmas celebration... you do not have to spent alone.. make a great dinner party and invite the people over there, your neighbour or co-worker.. or you can even treat the unfortunate people there!! make someone day.. Christmas can bring a lot of meanings.. it's how you define it.

many years in the past I spent Christmas Eve and maximum of Christmas Day on my own. i became unmarried and thanks to pass round to my father and mom for Christmas Day, yet i became fairly poorly (had the flu) and did not go round to their living house till the evening. I keep in innovations going to mattress on Christmas Eve at about 9pm and that i felt very sorry for myself, and then it regarded surreal waking up on Christmas morning and the living house i became in became deathly quiet (it is the option of what you assume on that different day!). I had a cup of tea and cornflakes and that i keep in innovations sitting on the settee and all i ought to imagine became 'this does no longer sense like Christmas'. although, searching back, there became some thing very non violent about all of it, even even with the truth that I did sense extremely lonely on the time. i have under no circumstances performed it for the reason that, or maybe even with the truth that i fairly savor my own company, it has made me understand the way major it really is to work out someone (everybody) on Christmas Day!

No, I haven't. But I do know that Christmas is a feeling in your heart, and you can be alone, and together at the same time.

No. But there were a couple of Christmas dinners that went so badly that I wished I was alone.

Yes... I'd moved to another province the week before, and didn't have the funds or the time off work to head home. I also did not know anyone. I was initially dreading it, but it turned out to be really nice... it is seldom (still) that my life gives me that much quiet time.

Yes, many holidays alone. That's just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. I still enjoy and celebrate the holidays in my own way.
