Because school hours are designed around a typical work schedule for parents...

Because those are typical working hours. This is useful for two reasons:
1) Parents and staff find this fits into everyday routines well.
2) It gets all the kids in a routine which transfers easily into (most) jobs- if kids were raised getting up 10am all week they'd find the transition to a 9-5 job hard!

It's basically to get them used to being out of their filthy stinking pits in order to do a decent days work Although judging by the look of some of them it's probably so they wont be too shocked when they have to be at the job centre to sign on at 9.
God blees em, Merry Christmas.

We want to get them into the routine early. Probably also easier on parents. Drop kids off first and then go to work.

I think it's to get them into a routine and also so that they become tired when it gets late so go to sleep earlier, you wouldnt want to have 5 year old up till midnight
