Yes. Did you here the story on the news. A 6 week old pitbull chewed off a one month old babies toes. I guess the parents were sleeping. They are in big trouble as well. No dog is safe around babies or young children. I would not recommend having any dog alone in the same room as a baby or small child.

It depends on their temperament. Are they normally aggressive with other animals or people? If so they may well be like that to a baby.If they aren't one thing you must remember is to show affection for the dogs like you did before the baby came along.I have a pit and we have had her two years. She has been around my son since he was 3 and never has she been aggressive with him.I would trust her with a newborn.Just don't listen to the idiots that will come out of the woodwork to tell you how evil pit bulls are. They have no idea what they are talking about.I am posting a link so you can read all about them. The post that said they were born to fight is one of the idiots I was talking about. Before you post and give advice research the topic.

No matter what he breed of dog no child should be left unsupervised around one. Dogs are animals and do not have the same rational as we do, and if a child accidentally startles or hurts the dog the child maybe bit or mauled. Pit Bulls are no different from any other breed if raised properly. By their breed standard they are one of the best breeds for kids. We have one in our family that absolutely lives for babies and children. They can do what ever they want to him and he loves it. But he was raised right as were our other dogs and were raised around kids and babies. If they were not I would not let kids go near them. We have several other breeds in our family but the pit bull is the best with the babies and kids.

ANY dog is not safe to have around a baby. I wouldn't just say that pitbulls are the most dangerous just because they have a bad rep... but I wouldn't keep it around a baby because the baby can't do anything to defend its self.

depends. if you teach the pitbull to behave around them then no. however, if you do not then the pitbull sees them as small animals which may or may not be attacked.

pitbulls have a natural agression toward animals but not towards people. it all depends on the training.

All animals are dangerous to have around baby's. That is why it is important to never leave a baby or young child un supervised.

Yes they are. All dogs are dangerous to have around babies unsupervised - after all they're animals and we can't tell what they're thinking. However, pitbulls are genetically and historically bred to be fighting dogs so their instinct is to fight. They may not necessarily recognise a baby as being that. I wouldn't leave a baby with any dog, let alone my dogs or a pitbull.

nope.. i have had several pits in my lifetime and all loved children....my dad had one when i was growning up. and now i have one he is 4 monthes now. and he is a little rough houser, but he is gentle with children.. i also have cats and he is great with them. now dont get me wrong if (any) dog has been a bused they are going to be nasty. the only time i am concerned is around other dogs.. he gets really excited, which now being a puppy is fine...but as he get older i am going to have to watch.. but every saturday i take him to petco so he can be socialized.. i think form a good breeder pits are great..
