Unless your boss is causing some major problems for you, I would keep the job. It sounds like you really enjoy it. Also, that is tough work so if you enjoy the residents and coworkers, you must have a pretty good aptitude for it. That's very commendable, as it would be very difficult for some people.
Try to think of it this way...there may be something that your boss is going through right now in her personal life that affects the way she treats others. Try to have and show compassion for her...and that might change the way you view her behavior. Good luck!

Almost everyone is in this situation. If you like your job, which appears to be helping people, and you like your co-workers, why let the boss run you off? Just do what you do, and get along as best you can. Why confront your boss? I assume she has the authority to fire you, and you wouldn't want that on your record.
If you want to speak with her privately and ask her if there is something you have done to upset her, or anyway you can improve your performance. Be prepared for the answers that you may not like.
If you are really unhappy, by all means leave. If you think you can live with it stay. It isn't likely your going to change it though. Good luck.

Stick it out for a little while. When your next employer looks at your experience, the longer you worked somewhere the better. I worked for 18 years at GE. Bosses came and went. I liked some, and hated others. But the last boss lasted the longest. As a matter of fact, He is still there. I had to quit, cuz I couldn't take him anymore. I free lance now. 1 more year, and my GE pention kicks in. Life is good!

As they always say, either you join them or get out. It all depends on your situation. Which is more important to you, having your co-workers and living with your obnoxious boss at the same time. Or getting out and being not sure if your would be boss will be better than the one you now have. Remember, it takes time to establish rapport. I suggest you stick it out for the meantime and when push comes to shove, then you decide.

No matter where you work there will always be someone who you dislike or who dislikes you. You have to learn to deal with these people in life. Learn to get along with them. Be glad you like everyone else there. I would keep the job.
