Everyone says to just remove it from my programs and it will revert back to six after I restart the computer. Is this for sure? If, somehow it doesn't revert, can I download six safely from Microsoft's website?

Also, I'm running a computer with 4 other accounts on it (each member of my family has one). When we downloaded IE7 it worked well on mine, and they constantly got error messages on theirs. Will the removal of IE7 change everybody's internet settings, or do I need to go into each person's account to fix it?

Hi MovieLuver,

As others have already stated, you can safely revert from IE7 to IE6 by simply using the [Start] > [Control Panel] > [Add or Remove Programs] > it's alphabetized as "Windows Internet Explorer 7" > [Remove].

The other part of your question was that you have your computer set up with four user accounts.

This change (from IE7 to IE6) will apply to every user. The change, of course, must be made by any of the users that have "admin rights" - but it will affect everyone.

By the way, Microsoft offers FREE telephone support for IE7.
They could help you revert to IE6 if you have problems.
They could help figure out why you are getting errors if you choose to continue to keep IE7.

And they answered my particular problem promptly (so I'm still a happy user).

I hope this goes smoothly for you.

Respectfully,
TimF

Yes, you can uninstall it from add/remove programs, I have done it. Just in case, you can download IE6 from the url below.
