No. But to me the ideal Santa would be of sufficiently mixed blood that he could demonstrate that Santa is for all children. I suppose makeup could do the same thing. To a white, he is tanned from all that sunlight reflected off the snow. To a black, he is of mixed blood, which most of his family is, too. To anyone else, he is close enough to identify with.
The reality is that it is a job, like acting, where the physical characteristics of the applicant are probably considered bone fide job qualifications. An employer can creatively reach beyond that if he wants, but generally Santa is depicted as an obese elderly man, and almost always white. I believe a discrimination suit might not win, but the publicity it generated might be sufficiently upsetting to the mall or department store sued that they might reconsider their choices.

Why not.....and then let the Black owned department store next door have a black Santa......do African nations have White Santa's, I'm sure they don't. I think that any store has the right to do either. Look at Miami. Do you think they have white or black Santa's there? How about Jamaica, black or white? American African American's will always have a gripe in America....if they went to other nations such as Europe....I think there would be more silence...because a lot of them won't put up with it as wimpy Americans do.

Employment discrimination is against the law. But if I was a person of color I would rather be doing something else within the store than performing a seasonal job of having little brats sit on my lap telling me what they want for Christmas. Don't get me wrong I saw Santa lots of times when I was a kid but to have that job would drive me to drink.

Of course Dept stores should not be allowed to refuse a non white male for Santa...that's breaking the law. What business would come up with such a policy? Gotta be something else. My kids once sat on a drunk Santa's lap....now he should have gotten the heave ho ho ho.

Santa is for everybody, and many people imagine him differently, so of course Santa's skin can be a color other than white
Some people are close-minded and only want to see a white Santa. However, it's uneccesary to cater to these people.

While "Santa Claus" is usually personified as white, that doesn't mean that the actor portraying him should be.
The native peoples around Israel are not White, and never have been, yet "Christ" is portrayed as white as well. If he ever existed it is highly probably he was black, or dark.
Ultimately who cares about color, and let the guy be Santa.

Robin Hood: Men in Tights said it best.
Robin Hood: As my first order of business, I would like to appoint a new Sheriff... my friend Achoo.
Crowd: A black sheriff?
Blinkin: He's black?
Achoo: And why not? It worked in Blazing Saddles.
crowd: Yeah.

Absolutely. Santa Clause is a Christmas myth. How can a myth have a color.
Besides, color should not matter.
