Yes, at one time. Now because things have changed. Because in the past USA was so Christian, so its people were ready to defend and fight for freedom even for people who were oppressed in other countries. Now, most of the people are self centered, less concern to help the weak and your government has become very agreeable to accept the practice of other religions without knowing some of those were worst than the Communist system of ideology and faith. That is they do not even allow freedom to their followers. Whether their teaching is right or wrong, they have to follow without question. So USA cannot be as great as before any more. It is lucky you have the fire power, otherwise, you country will be cut up into many pieces. So USA people must wake up. Check the religions that help the country to build up citizens that are loyal and abiding to the USA system of politics. Otherwise, soon your country is going to sink when your army and fire power are exhausted. You must start to build up your country to follow the past glories and have the correct religious practice. God bless you.

I'm so sorry, but there isn't such thing as a greatest country .We all live on one planet ,and what one country or one individual does ,is effecting all others.as long as we hold on these patriotic nonsense ,we won't be able to solve gobal problems because all countries have different laws .one day we have to face global issues and to solve them together. But if you mean that AMERICA is able to solve all the problems in the world, and that would be true, than you are certainly right. And when you love your country so much then you must agree that we all live in the same world and when the whole world is polluted ,one country is just as bad as the other.

i WOULD HELL YEAH what you have to understand is that a country doesnt derive its greatness from it government ,its leaders , or its economy . People make the difference and we have the best the greatest cultural diversity and in spite of religious and racial divides we somehow manage to come together in times of need . Nationalism is not a dirty word be proud to be an American and what ever else you maybe celebrate your roots as well as your nationality we dont always have to agree to be the greatest .

The way President Bush has screwed up whatever remained of our International image, you can well be sure of being hanged up the ceiling if you made this announcement anywhere else, including Canada.
