my nature is overly emotional, and i know she is going through a hard time, her mom hasn't been heard from in 3 weeks, so i got over emotional and said things to her that may have caused a boundry or confused her. she knows i like her and kinda likes me too. but we both know it's better to just be friends. anyways, how do i apologize or explain myself to her?? (we are bi females)

As weird as this may seem it was probably a good step letting her know. I think that got it out of the way so that now you can concentrate on just being friends.

I guess the only way to apologise is verbally or in a letter. If you buy her a gift she might get confused again. Just explain that you were caught up in the moment with the emotion of everything, that you are sorry that you overstepped that boundary and if you made her uncomfortable and let her know that you know where it is at.

Tell her you're sorry if you came across as overbearing but you are concerned about her situation and then let it go! Often, emotionally over the top can drive someone away. She has her own s**t to deal with right now and you both supposedly have significant others for your respective needs.
