ive heard about this before, it is a very serious problem. it sounds like a very delicate issue, depending on how devoted to their 'faith' you should judge on what to do. at best, you will hurt them and they will dislike you, but if there is a chance of them killing you, which has been known to happen, then either dump him, or run away with him. i heard about this one time when this girl converted this other muslim girl to christianity and the muslim family killed their daugter, and them got the other girl charged for her murder (but that was in a slightly more muslim country)

The problem that you face is not an easy one to solve, especially if your family are devout Muslims. Although Christians are consider to be "people of the book", they are still considered to be much less than a Muslim when it comes to interreligion marraige. Islam does not appear to be flexible when it comes to this, and families have been known to kill daughters and sons who "dare" to marry outside thier religion. If the Christian man were to convert to Islam, there would be no problem at that point, at least on religious grounds. Moderate Muslims might be more flexible, but right now the radical Muslim is ascendent and even if your family were open to such a relationship, other more radical Muslim's might still consider you to have betrayed your heritage and seek to do you harm. Not knowing your specific family situation or the situation with the man you want to marry, I can give you no better answer. A Christian is generally under no restrictions as to who he or she may marry, so this is a fundamental difference in the two religions. Some Christian sects may not like each other (i.e. Southern Baptist vs Catholics, Protestants vs Catholics, etc) but they generally don't resort to the violence that we see in the Middle east (Sunni vs Shia), or seek to kill those who marry non-Christians.

I'll assume that its against Muslim religion to marry a Christian. I don't think religion should seperate love. Confront your family, tell them that you love this man, and you respect his Christianity. If your family doesn't understand that, do not abandon your love for Mr. Christian. Your family cannot make all of your decisions for you.
