I agree- cool water is one of my husbands favorites.
Look for earthy , subtle scents. Some colognes for men are just too sweet smelling- most men that I know , dont really like that .
You definitely don't want something too strong either - no man wants to walk around smelling like he fell into a perfume vat :)

My choice for my father would be - Canoe - You can find it at Wal-Marts. It's got a nice sporty scent.
