Thanks for all the advice yesterday regarding my LG fridge freezer dumping water but could someone tell me where the water evaporates into this water holding tray is as we have searched the whole of the fridge and cannot find access to see if it is blocked . There are no visible openings for us to check .Do we have to remove any metal panels at the back for access.

Follow the back wall of the fridge from about halfway down all the way to the bottom of the compartment. The condensation / frost builds along the back wall due to the cooling elements. When this thaws it runs down the back wall and collects and then flows through a tube to the tray under the fridge. Along this back wall should be what looks like a wrinkle or crease that is higher on the outer edges. In the middle will be the hole. Chances are that this is plugged and molded over so you can't see the hold.

In your fridge compartment, in the centre at the bottom you should see a v like structure running from the corners to the middle and a little hole where they meet, this is the drain hole. mine has a little red plunger with a round handle mounted in the hole which you just pull up and down a couple of times about once a week or so to keep the hole clear of ice etc. dont waste time looking for a removable drip tray there is none, it's built into the casing of the machine between the two skins of the outer casing at the back, the water which runs down is so little that it evaporates right away from the heat off the compressor.

I am not entirely sure of your question.. DO NOT REMOVE any of the back paneling....

There is a pan in the bottom part of the refrigerator that collects water and it does evaporate.. There is HEAT there you know.. from the motor/compressor and that aids in the evaporation. I do take the pan out ... maybe once a year(from the lower front of the refrigerator) just to clean out the dust, etc.
