*Take him on a shopping spree and buy him whatever he wants...for a reasonable amount of money.
*Take him horseback riding
*Take him to a atv racetrack for a day
*Sporting events tickets
*Rent snowmobiles or ski's for a day
*Cook him a homecooked meal and watch a movie together.

a girl friend of mine -- once gave me a "cheap" drinking cup -- that was years ago...and I did not keep the girl friend but kept the cup....and when in need I still drink from it and whether i like it or not I do remember the girl who gave it to me...the moral of the story if you want to be remembered give him a gift he can and he will use all the time (even if you are gone), thus a cup of coffee with your name on it will be a nice....souvenir-reminder....good luck.
