well happy is a general term. are you happy with the way your life has turned out? did you accomplish some goals? if so be happy about that. be happy about family/love. find a new zest for life. take a trip go on a cruise, or meditate, get into a religion? find inner harmony. there are a million things you can do. exercise, walk, go back to school. 50 is not that old by todays standards......just enjoy your life!

Someone can have a life after reaching 50 if they keep on living their lives. I'm over 50, and I'm still living!

Peace,

Hope

I don't know yet, I just got there. So far, it hasn't been the greatest in the happiness department. Especially since I work in advertising, an industry that's all about the young 18-35 year old demographic, not just to advertise at, but to have working for them. When I look in the mirror I wonder who is that old woman. Most of the time I just feel invisible because I'm not 25 anymore.

R U serious? This is the best time in my life.I am grateful to have lived this long as most of my friends have passed on.I am much more at peace in my life at this age.I've lived long enough to know what's really important in life to me and the things and people I use to worry about pleasing have long gone from my priorities.Yes,you can live happy after fifty if you've learned anything about your self while living, you can and will be so very happy just being wiser.

You have to think and plan for the age beyond 50 when you are in the middle age or30 to 50 years. If you plan properly surely you can be happy. The most important fact to be remembered id there is no retirement in life. You can retire from one job but beyond it you to find some other work.It can be a job, business, or hobby.Something to be engaged with. A person who plans this and executes it will be happy till the end.

think of all the great things you have to look forward to: no kids in the house, shuttling them back and forth, hopefully a little more time to travel, even if it's modestly, enjoying your spouse's company, long uninterrupted walks with your dog, joining classes, all the hobbies you put off until you were less busy...i am not even close to 50 yet, bu i think the choices you make now (financially, romantically,) shape the way you can live your life after 50 and beyond. and if you think that all sounds sooo boring, consider that most of us don't want to be thrown in to someone else's idea of a good life, but when you ease yourself into it, it becomes second skin to you, and you begin to enjoy the activities that present themselves to you. i remember before i had kids, watching moms driving their kids to all the soccer games, etc, and thinking "Just shoot me when i get to that stage in life", but when you evolve into it, and you love your children the way you do, suddenly your perspective changes. it's a wonderful life. (with a few bumps in the road, of course!)

I think if the person had already archived all the goals desired in life and feels very successful, than they will feel very happy, not just on 50, but on any age.
