I have 4 cats that do a really good job of keeping mice away from the house.

I don't recommend poison as they will eat it and then go back inside the walls to die which will give you another problem.

Use traps. There are an few different kinds. Peanutbutter makes excellent bait as they can't take it off withoout springing the trap.

You need to also look to see how the mice are getting into the walls. Mice can squeeze into an opening as small as 1\2 of an inch. Make sure all your pipes are sealed where they come between walls, basement windows have no gaps, and dryer vent openings to the outside have a rodent screen over them.

Never leave open food laying out. Make sure all opened food containers are either put into airtight plastic containers or refrigerated. Flush soft leftovers down the toilet or wrap them in plastic bags. Take out your garbage often! Use tightly covered garbage cans and bins.

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately you're somewhat limited. You have to find openings in the walls (or if there are not openings, you have to drill holes at the base of the wall) and insert traps. It's your only real option. Sorry, it sucks I know.

Whatever you do, don't poisen them. Stinks to high heaven!
I figured out how they were getting in there in the first place. After I got rid of them using traps, I made sure I sealed up their access points. Ounce of prevention etc.

put poison pellets in the wall then plug the holes in the wall with lots of steel wool (like brillo pads) -or buy copper wool if you want- so they can't get out and then wait for it....when you smell them you know they're done.
