i've heard these were like stipped down gto's. what made them diffrent than a regular lemans/ tempest

T is for Tempest .... 37 Is for Coupe
GT is for option model for the T-37 that dealers and customers could order....

Pontiac needed to get the GTO back down to affordable for the Market and came up with this Plan for GTO's But decided on the budget Tempest and used it Even in its model name...

Friends have Owned a T-37 455HO, GT-37 400, GT-37 455HO....

Very cool Cars....We called them the Little Sister of the GTO...

These cars were touring editions. I own one ('71) They have no carpet. A large 2 bb single exhaust (changed that) posi rear. Mine does have air. Not any extras to speak of but were rather fast (top end 140mph) It is a T-37 .
