What nuts and other foods are good for pregnancy. I'm only about 7 weeks.
Thanks

Nuts are an excellent source of protein. I would stay away from peanuts though incase of allergies.Macadamias and postasio nuts are yummy and great for your growing baby.
Also green leafy vegetables are high in folic acid which is essential during pregnany and vit C in citrus fruits are excellent for the absrobtion of iron and calcium which you get from meat, and dairy.
Fish 1-2 meals a week is full of essential omega 3, salmon being the best.
Basically a balanced healthy diet is all you need for pregnancy with an increase of calories during the 2nd trimetser.

Congratulations

It's perfectly safe to eat peanut butter/nuts during pregnancy. It's actually recomended cause of the protein you get from it. I eat peanut butter all the time with my first pregnancy and my baby is fine I'm 33 weeks pregnant and STILL eat it P.s if this were true (eating it being bad) then they would tell you not to eat eggs and not to eat other things that would cause allergies.. But in the end. It's safe

Any kind of nut is good while pregnant....its protein and vitamins.
I personally loved pecans and almonds while pregnant....and peanutbutter.
As for other foods....just lots of fruits and veggies, the fresher the better. Drink lots of water and milk and take your vitamins and your baby will be healthy!! Its ok to have your sweets and some caffine as well!
Also on top of your prenatals there is a supplement called Expecta that is awesome for babys brain development, my dr had me taking it with my daughter.

Cashew nuts contain more iron than red meat and are very good for you.

An asian custom is for pregnanct women to have lots of almonds, they say it makes the baby brainy - maybe there is some truth in this as they have high Vitamin E levels.

Different nuts have different benefits, so it's good to eat a mix. Make sure they are raw (not roasted) and unsalted, otherwise the benefits are lost.
Seeds are good as well - particularly pumpkin and sunflower.

Eat plenty of fruit and veg and good quality protein - eggs, organic fish and meat. Get your carbohydrates from wholegrains.

Your midwife should advise you on the best foods for mother and baby. However, i was advised to avoid peanuts due to allergies.

You are just advised NOT to eat peanuts or peanut based products if you or your partner have any allergies, exzema or hayfever.
