I never waited to tell my family, although most women wait until there about 15 weeks or so along.
A neat idea would be to get them something that says Grandma or Grandpa on it for Christmas!
For example: We are getting my boyfriend's parents a 2007 Calender that is for Grandma's and Grandpa's which I'm sure they'll get a kick out of, however since I'm 8 months along they of course already know lol. But I think something like that would be a great idea to tell your parents.

Its best to wait until your pregnancy is confirmed by your dr or at least until your 8 weeks along.
But if you just can't keep it in (I couldnt, I called everyone I knew within 5 min of testing LOL) You could always get the grandparents a bib that says "I Love Grandma" and let them open it on Christmas day.
A friend of mine took a picture of a hamburger bun inside of her oven and put it in her Christmas cards last year, and enjoyed people trying to figure out what the heck it was LOL
BTW...congratulations!! Happy & Healthy pregnancy to you!!

Telling the Family first is always best... But friends often offer the better support. This also depends on the relationship with the family, and inlaw's.
Work will need to know, and you may need to take things a little easy, but very little can hurt the pregnancy in the first trimester..
Your body will let you know when its time to settle down and slow things up...
Congrats...

I would definitely see a doctor before telling the entire family, but telling your parents and laying out the whole situation-that it's early and you haven't been to see anyone yet-would be fine okay as long as they know you'd like to wait to tell everyone else.

You should tell them when you are ready, not because you feel you must because they will be upset for not knowing first. It may be a nice suprise to tell them for Christmas, but you may want to wait until you have been to your Dr's, but do tell your work asap because its important for you and babies well being.
Congratulations to you on this!!!

maybe you should tell them after the holidays, or maybe when you are really sure that you are pregnant.
You can tell them, that you are pretty sure that you are...but... and so on and so on, and tell them with a soft landing.
And maybe you should tell the people at work before the family.
