OK there is a little story of someone wanting to go racing in Street Stock class... But with a CHEAP Factory Pontiac car...

The famous Tin Indian himself Bill Knafel purchased "Anderson Pontiac" and retained the respected name for several years.
The dealership became known as "Knafel's Anderson Pontiac". Knafel Pontiac in Arkon, Ohio

After building 12 Golden Sabres with RamairV Cost was just so high but.... They wanted to go Racing again in 1969 but wanted to stay class to weight and Cost they came up with the Idea of the 1970 Magnum 400 and built 50 of them and went racing in 1970 year with making enough models to qualify for the class....

Out of 50 Sold 9 have been found in great condition 10 in SoSo... One Ram Air IV model was found in florida still in Drag Car form not street car.... Very rare...

Knafel Pontiac....
The Knafel Pontiac race teams won more National/World Championships than any other stock class team; GM, Ford , and Mopar included. Knafel Pontiac was to high performance Pontiac

Yes, there was a Tempest 400 magnum, a "tuner" car fron Knaffel Pontiac in 1970-as an answer to the Roadrunner, after the GTO Judge sold well, but failed to be thelow cost stripped down model that the Roadrunner was.

Lighter than the GTO, a great Pure Stock orF.A.S.T. racer.Don't know how many were made, but likley less than 50, very rare.
