When I grew up Santa filled the stocking and gave 1 big present.
My girlfriends family gave the majority of the gifts from Santa and a few from the parents. Just type Santa or Parents for who gives the most gifts. Thanks.

My parents gave me all the gifts. I grew up always knowing the truth about Santa and I'm not a psychopath nor am I like a suicidal freak or something.
I'm glad they didn't lie to me.

When I grew up most were from Santa.
However I now have a 3 and 4 year old who were asking for everything that came on every commercial. I was so upset about this! I explained the cost of gifts and those less fortunate to us that don't have many toys if any. My 4 year old popped up with "but Santa brings presents to all good boys and girls, why can't we get all the presents from Santa"
Being on the spot and having to come up with an answer, while mad, I said "Santa only does stockings and a few gifts"
After I thought about it, and decided I really like that answer. I would like my daughters to understand that Christmas isn't about getting presents, but with all the commercialism it is hard to. I think the Santa thing makes it real tough for them to reality, but at the same time I want them to believe in Santa and have the fun.
