Do we, Indians, have basic ethics to respond to social causes in this modern times?

Do our actions speaks about basic moral responsiblities in modern times?Gandhiji was killed for cause of India's independence.Indira Gandhiji died for cause to curb terrorism.Rajiv Gandhiji died for promoting peace in Sri Lanka...so many examples for right causes.But on other hand we citizens of India does not bother about our fellow Indians when he/she is in misery or helplesness.As per one of News item,the mentally retarded girl was raped in overcrowded suburban train in day light in Mumbai and hundreds of impotent commuters had rejoiced that pathetic scene joyfully at free of cost.None of them dared either to stop the crime not to stop the running train.U may read such many real incidents in News paper while sipping your morning Tea/coffee and just do nothing becoz it has not affected U or UR family members..If one such crime would have been averted on the spot at that moment, no one would have repeat it again.Let us realize and respond to social evils spontaneously for safer India

I am very sorry to the pathetic incident.
The cause is modern times.
As you said "joyful scene at free of cost" is the modern trend.
You see those suggestive scenes in cinemas,magazine and drama with some expense and call it modern trend.

We missed moral education for the past ten years.Most of our citizen don't know about morality.Corrupt and terrorist are treated as leaders.
These things has to be changed. We can do nothing other than pray for a better India!!!

there is basic ethics. you are not alone being troubled.
there are really too many criminals .people are also seen getting killed while fighting to avert crimes. true
freedom will come, Gandhiji had said, when a young woman will be able to walk home down the dark city streets during late hours of night . good people have to worry for how long -i don't know,before Gandhiji's hopes were realized,

I am glad u have such a good concern for the social ethics. Let me tell u one basic truth. if u want bring change in the society, let it start from u. u know the proverb very well " action speaks louder than words. start implementing these ethical values in ur personal life and people will follow u. we respect Gandhi because he had the guts to practise what he taught.

Its up to individual leaders to persuade a culture to do the right thing. This takes time. So become a leader for a cause even if its just for your neighboorhood. People need to change what is around them first before they can ask someone else or other nations for help.
