Help me please?
i asked a question earlier about losing my mucus plug which i have now and having groin pains which i do but i have no symptoms of labour and im 39 and half weeks. I forgot to mention also my braxton hicks have stopped so i am now getting no practive contractions at all since last night is this something to worry about? as i thought these contractions are meant to turn into real ones eventually not just stop. My midwife said 2 weeks ago i was 3/5 to the brim and so i should be early. Im so confused.

Hi, having just been through the exact same thing I would recommend that you go straight to your local maternity hospital for a check-up. I had no pain but was dilating. Scary isn't it.

And yes the groin pain is normal but if its sorta regular it could also be labour. My last pregnancy was my third and it was the weirdest one yet. Never had a braxton hicks at all, just groin and back pain. Lost my mucus plug at 36 weeks and delivered at 38 weeks. BUT was in minor labour that whole time. Spent it in hospital hooked up to machines in case it progressed.

Please go and get checked.

I`m not an expert on these matters, but........I would imagine that all the trouble, pain, worries you are going through now will well be worth it, when you realize what you have created, life is surely a miracle, apparently something from nothing. And the child (who I hope is healthy) will live a long productive life making any short term pains and problems now well worth while. And of course the child may well go on and produce even more life in the future. The miracle of life.

groin pains are very normal so late in pregnancy. It's also normal for movement to slow and braxton Hicks to cease before the real thing begins (Like the quiet before the storm).
That being said, if you are ever worried about anything this late in pregnancy you should put your mind at east and get checked out.

Call the midwife and describe how you feel. Not all women have painful contractions. You are probably dialating. Please check before it becomes an emergency.
