Mr. Vakayil K, your answer is in a way different from others. The first part of your answer, which is "If the Umpire declares a wide and if the batsman stay at the crease, the team will get one run and they will win the match" is very clear, very logical and it supports other answers (above) as well.

Second part of your answer needs a bit of clarification. By saying that "However, if the batsman attempts to take a run and in that process gets run-out, the batsman is OUT", do you mean the batting side has lost the match? If so, it will be through sheer negligence or mistake on the part of the two batsmen - why they tried to take the run. May be because, as in the question the Umpire "calls after some time" and/or they couldn't notice umpire's signal for a wide or in the heat of the moment (last ball, last wicket, one run requirement) they just thought to run for the run.

In this situation (second part) in my view, losing the match by the batting side is quite logical despite the benefit of the wide ball, which they lost by virtue of their mistake of trying to take a run.

If the Umpire declares a wide and if the batsman stay at the crease, the team will get one run and they will win the match.
However, if the batsman attempts to take a run and in that process gets run-out, the batsman is OUT.

The defenition is given below:

A batsman may not, by definition, be out bowled, leg before wicket, caught, or hit the ball twice off a wide. He may be out handled the ball, hit wicket, obstructing the field, run out, or stumped.

The bowling team will win, because the game must be played untill the ball is dead, and if the batsmen ran, the ball is very much still alive.

batting side wins, also they would not attempt a run anyway as they already just got the one run they needed.
