You may want to contact your local fire dept or police station. They will help guide you. I really think if you talk to your Church that they will find help. Most Churches are more than willing to help as long as you are trying to help yourself. I don't know if you have a place called Genesis in your area but it is similar to Salvation Army. They help financially and with material things too. You could make cookies, and have the family help. Having presents isn't having the spirit. With your kids being as old as they are then they should understand and be ok with that. But if you look around the house you could probably find stuff to make everyone. Just be creative, you can make this great, it's getting the spirit that you need. good luck, and god bless,i hope things work out.

I am so sorry for your unfortunate circumstances. The 4 month old baby is not really old enough to realize the dilema so a lot of caring and love for that little one. All others are old enough to maybe draw names and for the name that they draw they can produce pictures from the past that have a story or memory they would like to share with everyone use other things like a ribbon they wore in their hair or a rock they gave someone when they were small. give IOUs to each other for 1 room cleaning, car wash, laundry wash, babysitting, etc. Get the picture? Good luck to you ALL and a Merry Christmas! Been there and done that!

Sure! There are lots of great things you can do. For example: remember who it is we are celebrating, maybe go to a local church nativity. And for Christmas morning have every one pick a name from a hat and MAKE gifts. The smaller children can color and the older ones can be creative. Put these in boxes and wrap them, or just give them to each other on Christmas morning.
Sing carols together, tell the Christmas story, I bet this could be one of the best Christmases your kids will ever have. It really is not about the gifts anyway!

I am very sorry about your misfortune. I am praying for you and your family. We all go through rough times and it is a shame that it has to happen on Christmas. But, just remember the true meaning of Christmas and remember that we have the Ultimate gift from our Heavenly Father: Jesus Christ. Use this day to spend extra special time with your family, read the bible, play games and sing songs and you can truly have a magical day.

I know its hard when its this close but you can always try a local church. Many will "adopt" a family even if it's late in the season. Good luck and God Bless to you as well.

Churches help people in need. Most schools also help.
