me and my boyfriend are having massive arguement over this, i hope im right!

I would say, YES, it probably is bad to use a microwave with rust in it, there is all sorts of bacteria in that rust, bacteria that shouldn't be near food, i would buy a new microwave, they don't cost that much these days all you need is a simple one, but yes it is bad as bacteria thats not supposed to be near food will be crawling about the rust.

Do you mean is it safe? No it's not safe if there is rust in the microwave then the protective paint that covers the metal has been compromised, this means there is bare metal subject to the radio waves emitted by the microwave, and could theoretically blow up.

we have had 4 microwaves and eventually they all got rust in them and went on fire. do not use! very dangerous. we now do without a microwave! lol

no don't use the microwave with rust in it not safe at all

nah u shouldnt use it if its got rust in mine caught fire when i used it when it had rust in!!
