Ants have a bilobed brain in the head.It is situated dorsally. From the laterodorsal surface of the brain arise two nerves that encircle the anterior part of the gut and unite ventrally to join the suboesophageal ganglia.From this arises a solid ventral nerve cord and runs up the the posterior end. From the brain arise nerves going to the eyes and mouth parts.

They have something what you can call as a BRAIN .
Its very primitive though.
Varous ant species have about 10,000-100,000 neurons.
Neurons are the cells in the brain which transmit information to and from body parts. In the simplest organisms they act only drive the organism to respond to certain stimuli. In higher organisms, reasoning abilities come into play and we can see animals working collectively to achieve a similar goal. Humans are the only higher animals which are capable of abstraction, most likely as a direct result of the immense number of neurons present.
