I really do not feel as if Christmas is approaching in only a week. It feels nothing like Christmas here, as temperatures got up to almost 60 degrees this week (I live near New York City). What can I do to make it feel more like the holidays. Thanks in advance, and a Merry Christms and Happy Hoidays to you all !

First, spend time with friends. The best way to get into the spirit is to do it with friends.

Second, decorating is a good way to get into hte spirit. When I visited my in-laws just before Thanksgiving, I bought them a Christmas wreath. Even though it was earlier, that put me into a little more of a Christmas mood.

Thirdly, New York City! I love walking around the city around Christmas time. It really knows how to get into the spirit. There's Rockafeller Center, the Macy's display, and vendors selling roasted chestnuts.

The best suggestion that I can offer is to go out and do some good will. Make some simple sandwiches and hand them out to homeless, hungry people in your neighborhood. I think you'll get some real satisfaction and the gesture will snap you into the spirit immediately. I guarantee that. Happy Christmas- It's not about getting- It's about caring & giving.

Go out and buy yourself a Christmas tree and decorate it. While you're decorating, play some Christmas music, and have a few drinks. Invite some friends over and make a party out of it!

I feel the same way as you do, but find by volunteering my time with the food bank helps. Being around all the enthusiastic volunteers is contagious.

It is the season of giving.

Hope this is doable for you.

Listen to Christmas Music, You could also decorate your home with lights, or you could go out and get a tree to decorate.
