West End is best for overall selection, proximity to shops, clubs, downtown
East Van is best for price, proximity to SFU
Kitsilano is best for beach proximity to UBC

What do you mean by "Best" ???
Do you mean location by beauty, things to do, places to walk , nearness to public transport, or are you talking price. Also were you interested in being in an ethnic neighbourhood?? Do you want to live near where you work? You need to define your question a lot better.

Pretty much West Van is goregous but not at all cheap, Eat Van is where you can find more affordable housing
