Well..... I think that our memory is our own personal "Hell." I know it is for me.

I mean...... we almost seem to dwell on the negative things in our life and keep them in the forefront of our minds. I suppose this is the way to learn and move beyond such things that haunt us for the rest of our lives. But that's just it..... what's done is done. The memory will exist. It is there. We can't erase it. So of course it is our own living "Hell."

I have to remember all of the things I've said that have hurt people I care about. I have to remember all of the friends I've lost due to foolish behavior. I have to remember all of the chances and opportunities I blew because of careless decisions. I have to look at pain I cause and pain I inflict. That's HELL..... true hell.

So it only makes sense that in Hell...... you are doomed to relive your past.... your memories that have brought you here. I think I'll have to agree with that statement.

Very interesting! Almost all of us have selective memories and incline to cover, overcome, sublime or suppress them especially if they are bad. So, in a sense, yes. If we could remember EVERYTHING in our lives exactly as it really was, it would be a hell. "Elusiveness" of our memory should protect us, and there is nothing wrong with that until it affects our contact with reality too much.

I would think that would be a very bad punishment. So, probably. Or I suppose it could be worse...an eternity of live performances by Air Supply, Britney Spears, The Back Street Boys, and Menudo while sitting between Rosie O'Donnell and the nachos.

This is true. When your not in Hell, your memory fails you. so you forget the bad you do that has sent you to Hell. Than when you get to Hell, you remember what you did but than it's too late to repent. their for that is your Hell!!!!

I believe so.

It's only at the lowest point of your life that you can truly recognize the good and bad of your life thus far.

You realize what was important and why and the smallest of details just come to you.

Seriously... when you're at the lowest point in your life, the only thing you can really do is reflect. And this reflection is clear because it's really the only thing you have left to fall back on.

Hell always remains in the dark recesses of our minds only to resurface at times when you least expect it. It's there and denying it doesn't exist can only create more havoc when it does resurface to plague us once again.
Acknowledge it, accept it just don't let it get control.
