I can usually tell because i get this weird cramp like pain. Ovulating is often accompanied by a noticible increase in discharge that is more 'stretchy and gooey' too. Also, you may be more interested in sex!
And i used to have periods every 2 weeks or so...eventually i got fed up of that and i went to the doctor and went on the pill just to regulate my periods to once a month, i stayed on the pill for 6 months and then stopped them again. My periods have been fine since then, only coming once a month.

Hi!
It is quite easy to determine if and when you are ovulating, and you don't need to spend money on kits, your body will tell you for free!
Take your temperature every morning when you wake up. It will rise when you ovulate (mine goes from 36.4/5 to 36.7 to give you n idea). This will usually be around the middle of your cycle. If the number of days between your temperature rising and your next period is 9 or less it is unlikely that the egg you have released is mature. Once released your egg remains viable for fertilisation for just 12-24 hours!
Also keep an eye on your mucus. It will become stretchy like egg white as you approach ovulation. Sperm can survive for up to 5 days in this more fertile mucus.
I would get hold of a copy of 'Fertility, Cycles and Nutrition' by Marilyn Shannon (available from www.ccli.org/store). It is a great book and will help you achieve more regular cycles.

There is an increase in discharge.
You could try taking your temp every morning before getting out of bed. If there is a slight increase then you are ovulating. It may take a two or three months of charting to notice any patterns.
If you were regular before going on the pill it may take another month or two for things to sort themselves out and then you will be ovulating around day 12

Hi ya i asked the same question a few days ago or so. Im exactly the same, i havent got a clue, i came off the pill 2 months ago and my periods are all over the place.
The common symtom, is white discharge that is quite thick and stretchy, normally lasts for about 2-3 days.
Hope this little bit of info helps! xx And good luck!

If you are having 2 periods a month, that doesn't imply that you are having full, fertile cycles.
Fertile cycles are generally longer than 24 days.
Monitor your cervical mucus and take your temperature to tell when you are ovulating.

Usually 7 - 10 days after the last day of ur period. Anything after that is premenstrual. U can get ur period any time after that.... Look for PMS symptoms...
