What I am looking for is a reputable, intensive school of Portuguese for a week or two. My level right now is intermediate. I would like to be in Salvador de Bahia, so I am looking for a good, reputable school and decent accommodation. Thank you for any information.

I can definitely personally recommend Idioma Language School

www.portugueseinbrazil.com

I was there for six weeks last summer and had an amazing time, they do group lessons and individual lessons and at much more reasonable prices that the competing, larger schools. The school is owned by two teachers, Graca and Maria, with years of experience and they really seem to care that everybody is enjoying themselves and getting the best out of their stay no matter how long or short it may be. during my stay alone they helped three people get voluntary positions , helped organise full time accommodation for another and arranged lessons with the top percussionist in the city for another student. When I was there my level came the whole way from false beginner to high intermediate and I was doing the group classes-one would progress much faster one on one. I stayed with a family which did wonders for my Portuguese but at the time it would have worked out slightly better to stay in a pousada, not sure about now as the inflation was quite high.

As you can tell I thought a lot of them!!! I cannot recommend them enough! Boa Sorte!

It isn't economically feasible to train Portuguese. I have to factor out that German is not an international language as it's defined above, it's an predominant language inside Europe however now not within the international marketplace. There are presently alterations within the languages which can be taught within the the UK as moment languages. Traditionally, French and German have been the langauges taught in colleges. Spanish (and to a point Italian) has turn out to be more and more extra generally taught in aspect when you consider that that many Brits have vacation houses and I consider the David Beckham outcome can have additionally had a few affect, but in addition Spanish is extra predominant at the international level now as a result of the growing monetary significance of South America. A little one growth in that area has led to an expand in younger spanish audio system. However, there at the moment are extra Mandarin chinese language audio system on this planet and it'll be fascinating to look if that takes to the air as a moment language taught in UK colleges. Arabic may be a key international language and can certainly function at the curriculum at a few factor. I suppose that German will turn out to be much less and no more wellknown as a moment language in colleges. However, considering that 2002 it's now not compulsary for British university kids to retain learning a language after the age of 14 so we will be able to most likely see a decline in language studying around the board. Shame particularly.

I can't personally recommend any of these schools, but I have heard them recommended by others. They are all located in Salvador. Good Luck!
