The first thing to do is call the service provider o2,vodafone,virgin or whoever the sim card was with ask them to block the sim card so the evil sh*ts can't run up your mobile bill or use up your existing credit.
At the same time ask them to block the IMEI number of the phone, this will render the phone useless and the sh*ts won't be able to use it at all, not even with a different sim card. Not sure if all providers will do this but I know virgin will.
Finally call the police, technically this was armed robbery.
Good luck.

Yes, call the network provider. They can put a lock on the sim card and track down the phone. Also report it to the police. This is armed robbery.
I don't understand some people in this world. Having no shame. How do they sleep with themselves at night...

call your network provider.. after calling the police... the network people will block the sim, but can only block the phone if you can provide the IMEI number!
if you get a new sim, you could poss transfer the number over!
they will not track the phone... its just a phone anyway!.... this is only done in special circumstances... not for reasons like this..
if you have insurance, use it...

call the phone company an ask them to put a block on his number, then go to the police and report this thug who took his phone, ask your grandson to give them all details of what this idiot looks like....but first off, get that number blocked, he will not be able to use it again, but the chances of getting it back are pretty slim...next time ask your grandson to keep his phone in his pocket away from thieving eyes and put it on vibrate so no one can hear it...i have this old phone that i use for work and it looks that bad, no one wants to pinch it, i always keep my good one at home because it's very expensive and i work in places where there's always lots of people around me...if they want to take my house brick they are welcome to it, but in this day and age, if it don't sing and dance, they don't want it....your grandson will have to be careful next time...bless him
