Sounds wonderful. But just try and take a million dollars into Darfur and Iraq and say, "we're building a hospital here, aren't we wonderful?" Then, you will have wished you spent the money on an Internet military to get your @ss out of those places as the bad guys says, "We don't want your stinkin' hospital, and gives us your money!"

Or not.
Everyone would think, "If everyone else is donating, it doesn't matter if I don't" and then maybe 3 people will donate.
And the 6 dollars will be spent on some candy or something for he person who keeps the donations.

I dont think our current govs would allow it to happen. they already have the monopoly on money scams like pryamid schems unjustified taxes ect... And then there is the fact that you would have to pick a leader and system of goverment and HACKERS would OWN it 4 sure. Not that they dont already own everything computers anyhow lol...

What a scary thought! Who would be in charge? People are not evolved enough to handle that sort of thing just now, maybe in a few millenia!

It would be necessary for "it" to be able to defend "itself" to declare independence. At this time "it" is constantly at war with those who constantly attack "it" with viral concoctions. It is "we" who are there to support and sustain "it's" liberty and allow "it" to continue to work freely. I still think that we are necessary for it's survival. Have a great holiday and spend "it" with friends and family not just with "IT".
Thanx,
Eds

Not me. The Internet isn't a country. Nice try.

Independence from whom? Also, haven't you heard the enormous sucking sound every time money is sent to Africa?
