Never had any problems with them! They've always been really helpful towards me & my situation.
A lot of my friends rave about nationwide though!
Shop around and have a look at who has the best interest rate!

If you want to invest on a monthly basis for a year then they do a Regular Saving account, which pays 7% interest (remember to take 20% off if you are a taxpayer. If you want to save for longer than that then look at their monthly savings account, which pays around 5% but is a more flexible account. You can withdraw once a year and miss a payment and it runs for as long as you want it to.If you have any spare cash then you can also pay in extras as long as you don't pay in more than £500 per month.I would suggest booking an appt with one of the advisors, who will go through it all with you.I am sure that you will find them helpful, I work for the Halifax and we are trained to put customer service first. I always treat my customers as I would want to be treated myself. Good luck!

Halifax isn't in liquidation, BTW james 309 is likewise incorrect as halifax is a component of the economic corporation of scotland team (HBOS) and are no portion of the royal economic corporation of scotland, economic corporation of scotland and the royal economic corporation of scotland are 2 different banks, thats why you have HBOS and RBS.

There is nothing BAD about your idea. However online banks like ING offer better interest rates than do other banks with no service charges or at least fewer.
