I have 3 cavies that live indoors as such i have become very familiar with their calls and chatter . The vibration as you call it may be one of the following. If my pigs are happy and wanting a cuddle they purr loudly very much like a cat. If they hear or see something that they don't recognise but don't see it as a threat they will some times emit a short fairly quiet purr , Finally on the purring front when one of more of my pigs are feeling horney they give out a very loud purr and couple that to walking tall as opposed to apparently having no legs, those of you that have seen it will know what i mean,
hope this helps

sometimes the reason why small guinea pigs vibrate is because their heart beats so fast that they seem to shake

There are several reasons, and it depends on the situation they're doing it in.
One of the most common reasons is when they're rumblestrutting. They make a purring sound and vibrate and wag their behinds to show dominance.
Whenever they're picked up, they can become scared, and some shiver in fear.

Whenever my guinea pigs vibrated and swung their rumps about it meant they wanted to mate.

well, we vibrate when we're shivering
so what's to say that guinea pigs don't vibrate when they're shivering.
it makes sense to me but if it dosen't make sense to you then that's your problem.

when they're scared.
i have one, and he vibrates when something startles him or he's warning something. he also makes a sound like his teeth are chattering when he does so.
just give yours a cuddle, and it'll be fine.
