People always mention terrorism when they mention Isalm, because they think that all Muslims hate other people that aren't Muslim and are willing to be a suicidal bomber. The only thing very few Americans realize that Radical Muslims only make up less than 1% of the Islam population. The Radical Muslims have given the rest of the 99%+ population a bad name, because a large percentage of terrorist are Muslims.

The reason is that the terrorists in the news at the moment, are all claiming Islam as thier reason for doing the things they do. Spreading hatred and bigotry, kill anyone who does not believe the way they do (even other muslims). Kill anyone who may be consorting with the enemy (women, children, it doesn't matter, they were the "enemy"). Kill until all the unbelievers (which includes those who do not agree with them) are gone and they inherit the earth. It is the radical muslims, claiming to be fulfilling the will of Allah, that are giving all muslims this image. As long as the moderate muslims fail to rein in thier own or to stand up to them, this image will persist and grow in the minds of the public with each death of "the infidel", whether they are muslim or not. As far as the terrorists are concerned, death is thier religion and they are painting Islam with that brush.

Because the current batch of terrorists are Muslims. They are not Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs, etc. This does not mean Muslims are terrorists. A small minority of Muslims are criminals, murderers and commit their evil in the name of Islam.

Other religious zealots have done the same in other periods of history such as the crusades .

Place you political correctness aside. Get real. Call a spade a spade. If you a Muslim then try and eliminate this perception. However I do not see many Muslim leaders standing up to denounce this terrorism.

Right now I will be suspicious of Muslims until they show me not to be afraid and believers in peace, love and God. I do not care what religion they are. Nor does God. Actions speak louder then words.

The problem is that most of the Islamic world lives under standards the west use to have a thousand years ago. The value of life is cheap (people in Islamic countries and from Islamic decent are the only ones to become suicide bombers). When a Christian dies in combat his family morns and cries. It is very common for Islamic families to be happy for their son to become a martyr after killing infidels. Also Islam is the only religion that has the value of Jihad - killing infidels.
