i am pleased that based on last nights perfomance leona won. she was outstanding and the true talent of the night spoke for itself. ray gave a good performance, but his version of the winning song was bland and boring. leona's was outstanding and moving. i loved it when all the finalists sang 'that's what friends are for'! wasn't the auditionies great!
leona will go far, although ben was my favourite. it would have been a tighter call if ben had been in the final. it was typical of ray doing all sinatra, boring!

I think at the end of the day, Ray didn't have the voice. Leona's voice spoke for itself (pardon the pun). I'm pleased she won.

Can't really disagree with any of your comments. Leona has been outstanding all series long. She has never had any negative comments from the judges, and has sung some REALLY hard songs, doing them really well. So what if she sounds like another Mariah or Whitney or whoever - when was the last time the UK produced a female voice as good as hers'? With that kind of ability she may well be able to crack America, but let's make her Christmas no 1 here first.

Ray did well himself, and has worked hard and entertained all series long, but I think the end result was fair. He has been kept in his comfort zone all the time, doing slurred swing songs which get tedious after one or two - I thought the X Factor was about finding someone who was versatile. Look at some of the other finalists: Ben has a splendidly distinctive voice (another type we haven't had in Britain for a long time) Robert showed that he could sing a range of different songs and could entertain people; and of course Leona had songs like 'I Have Nothing' which has extraordinary key changes.

I agree with your take on the winner's song. Ray's was dull and Leona's was full of life. I think it suited her voice better, but then Ray has been doing the same thing all series long (admittedly, very well) so maybe he got found out there.

All the finalists together were superb when they sang their ensemble. I never really took to Ashley, but does anyone else think he sounds like a young Jackie Wilson?

Yes, the bad auditionees were great. I was thinking they would do something like this and was trying to second guess who they would invite back. I thought they might have invited the weird bloke with the bald head and ZZ Top beard, who ended up shouting at the judges instead of singing.

Aside from Leona, I thought the young boy Shaun was the star of last night's show. He slipped up because of his nerves in the boot camp phase, so appearing on prime time television last night must have jangled them even more. However, he did really well, and showed that he has got it in him to be a singer after all.

Now they are advertising for contestants for X Factor 2007. There ARE talented people out there.....so throw your hats into the ring!

I am not "glad" that she won because i didn't care who won, because since Eton Road went i didn't really have any preference between any of the other acts. Fair enough she may be a great singer but there is something about her that I'm not keen on. I also think that the winning song should not be a cover like it is, but instead a new song like 'Thats my Goal' last year!

Yes i loved it when the finalists sang as it was great to see all my old favourites that unfortunately never made it to the final (Eton Road, Nikkitta, Robert and Macdonald Brothers), and i found the auditionies absolutely hillarious! lol
I do think that the way Ray sang the same types of songs each week was boring, but then again i thought that Leona did the same and that was boring aswell.

Leona holds no interest for me. She may have a decent voice but at the end of the day, it just sounds the same as Mariah Carey etc... I also find her performances very dull. The only one of hers I enjoyed on the final was the one with Take That, but I only started to enjoy that when they came on because they actually added some dynamics to the whole thing.

I thought Ray was better on the night. All three of his songs were very good. Unfortunately, the single chosen for the winner is quite blatently a song designed to be sung by a female artist, so he had no chance with that one.

Fortunatley, it's usually the person who come second that does better, so I look forward to whatever Ray (and Ben, who was the best out of all of them anyway) do next.

She was my favourite from the start. I just hope after this awful drivel of a single, they will get her some songs by well-known or original songwriters as i think she has a great talent and it would be a shame if she did the same type of 'ballad' style songs all the time. The girl's personality shone through and I dearly hope the fame doesn't affect her too much as so many people with her type of talent become 'Diva's' and then crash and burn. She will be a HUGE star.

The whole show was absolutely fantastic this year. It was the best X Factor I have watched since it first started. 'Leona' was out of this world and as for 'Ray' only being 18yrs old, he was excellent (no one can fault him) he really did his best and I really and sincerely admired him for doing just that.

No, no longer honest. I seen both one among those 2 to be finalists in place of contained in the bottom 2. in spite of the undeniable fact that it is going as an example one element, perchance X-element isn't the pretend, fixed and predictable coach which human beings are portray it as.

ok she has a great voice but think about it shes another maria carey, witney houston, christina aguliera. do you honesly need another one???? ray if he won would bring swing back to the modern world. and ben was great. he would have bought great stuff to the music world. the music world needs more rock and swing. dnt u agree. also, eton road were wicked, we need a unique boy band like them. westlfe and take that are unique too but there arent many of them. so i would have preferred them to win from the groups.
there are too many like leona and that lip moving thing when she sings is what exactly????? its all the same man. we've got too many singers like her.

Well said, I for one was so relieved she won. For a moment, I thought Ray was just going to scrape it. She deserved to win without a doubt. No offence to Ray, but she is far superior to him in terms of her vocal ability. I was really pleased for her. Take care: )
